Portuguese Speaker Jobs in Bulgaria — Relocate to Sofia with Full Support

Sofia hosts the Bulgarian operations of many of Europe's leading BPO and customer experience companies, alongside fast-scaling tech and SaaS firms. These organisations maintain permanent Portuguese-language desks across customer service, technical support, back-office, and trust & safety functions — creating reliable, year-round hiring demand with new Portuguese vacancies opening every week.

Mercier Consultancy Group is an established recruitment partner for these clients. We submit pre-screened, qualified Portuguese-speaking candidates directly to hiring managers — bypassing the standard applicant queue. This results in faster interviews, faster offers, and higher placement rates than applying directly or through a generic job board.

No — you do not need to speak Bulgarian to work in Bulgaria. All Portuguese speaker roles in Sofia operate in your language and English. Your customers are Portuguese-speaking, your colleagues come from across Europe, and the official office language in international BPO companies is English. Many professionals who have relocated to Sofia speak zero Bulgarian and have no difficulty working or living in the city.

That said, learning a few words of Bulgarian is appreciated locally — and Sofia has a growing international expat community that makes settling in straightforward, even without the language.

For most candidates, the answer is yes. The combination of relocation support, competitive salaries with performance bonuses, a significantly lower cost of living, a fast-growing international career scene in Sofia, and full EU compliance makes Bulgaria one of the most attractive international moves available to Portuguese professionals right now.

Bulgaria's healthcare system is accessible to all EU citizens, Sofia has a vibrant and affordable social scene, and the international expat community is one of the largest in the region. Most candidates describe the transition as much smoother and more rewarding than they expected.

Mercier Consultancy has successfully placed Portuguese speakers in Bulgaria from across Europe and beyond. We handle every step: job matching, employer introduction, offer negotiation, and relocation coordination — all at zero cost to you.
